Hi there! My name is Rachael Lindberg, LPC, SXI, CCTP. Wow, that’s a mouthful, and all of that alphabet soup is just a long way to say that I am a virtual mental health therapist in San Antonio with additional training in sexual health and trauma-informed care. I am beyond excited to be opening my private practice, Afterglow Counseling & Coaching, PLLC in January 2024. I cannot wait to get started with providing counseling services for individuals and couples who reside deep in the heart of Texas to help build resilience, foster healthy relationships, and enhance emotional well-being.

Does this sound like you? You feel your emotions very deeply. You struggle with perfectionism or never feeling good enough. Your or your relationship is experiencing a life transition like preparing for marriage or deciding whether or not to have children. You’ve been told you are a people-pleaser and you overfunction when overwhelmed. You want tools to cope with big emotions and strengthen your relationship with yourself and others. You are not alone. I am here to help guide you through the vulnerable journey of becoming the best version of yourself.

I facilitate growth for clients experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, and relationship concerns by encouraging effective coping strategies, improving communication, and setting healthy boundaries. I enjoy working with couples who are navigating premarital preparation, conflicts in communication styles, building emotional and physical intimacy, repairing trust, and infertility/reproductive decisions. We'd be a great fit if you are a recovering high achiever and an aspiring “good-enough-ist.” As a certified sex coach, I have an additional 300 hours of training to effectively address sexual health concerns. I hope to encourage healthy sexuality, safe relationships, self-acceptance, and empowerment through shame-resilience and psychoeducational techniques.

I often work with millennials and Gen Z individuals or couples, tackling anxiety, relationships, and life transitions as a college student, early career professional, newlywed, or new parents. I hope to build a collaborative relationship in the first few sessions so we can safely and respectfully dig deeper into the concerns you would like to address through counseling. As an adult in between the Millenial/Gen Z cusp, I can deeply empathize with the growing pains of emerging adulthood. My experience includes counseling college students, adults, and couples in a variety of settings such as a college campus, private private, and telehealth platforms, using cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, trauma-informed, and shame-resilience techniques.

Life is many things- beautiful, complicated, wondrous, and heartbreaking- but I'm here to guide you through overwhelming life transitions or heal from past emotional injuries. I provide a welcoming space for you to engage in thoughtful self-exploration and safely process powerful emotions.  I'd love to work with you to improve your life satisfaction and well-being through gentle challenges, self-reflection, and self-compassion.
